What an amazing date night spot! Kelp is perfect if you are looking for chill vibes and amazing food. Our service was amazing, our server Angie was so sweet and attentive. The food was delicious and the cucumber gimlet was so good I made my husband stop on the way home to pick up ingredients to try to recreate the recipe! We had the tuna nachos, Krab Rangoon , soup, salad and several rolls and it was all incredible. Would definitely recommend Kelp to friends and family!

Thus was my first time dining in at Kelp on Waters Ave. I have typically done take-out or delivery. They continue to have the best sushi in the area. The specialty roll selection is excellent, my favorite are Sin City and Volcano. The service was excellent, from the greeting when we walked in, the host was very knowledgeable and covered the menu with us and our server was top notch! She was so personable, knew the menu, make great recommendations and was just the right amount of attentiveness. The atmosphere is so cool, the high back grey chairs and booths mixed with whimsical lighting fixtures and soft ambient purple lighting created such a great vibe. And the sushi - the best! So delicious, very well assembled and the flavor combos are perfect. Highly recommend this establishment and plan to be back soon!

The Kelp Sushi Joint was all that I had hoped it would be. The food was excellent. I ordered a poke bowl with salmon and veggie rolls. They both were very tasty and everything was clean and well presented. The sushi grade salmon was tender and had a very good taste. I dined in with a friend and we enjoyed it very much. I recommend this restaurant on W. Waters to anyone interested in this type of food. The only other place that I know of that is comparable in Tampa is the Wooden Ladle on Tampa Drive.

Food was amazing, I got the fire tornado roll and shared an order of the Mexican roll and salmon nigiri with my mom. Service and atmosphere was wonderful as well.

Kelp is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Tampa, I visited the Town & Country location. Jo was my hostess & she was very nice, she made feel welcomed, seated me with such enthusiasm & even recommended some delicious rolls. Cat was my waitress, and she was very sweet, knowledgeable of the menu & drinks, she kept checking in on me, she was prompt with everything. Everyone here is being managed very well. Cheers to Mimi for it. I will be back again & again

Took the sushi class today and it was amazing. They walked you through each step and by the end of it you had more sushi than you could eat! We had a saki flight and an appetizer which was included before the class started. It was a great way to spend some on a Saturday afternoon. I can’t wait to go back to Kelp for a meal with the appreciation of the work that goes in such delicious food!

I love this place. Easy stop on my way home. Decent amount of food offerings and never too packed. Menu has a variety which is also great. Cal is my fav server. He's the best and always on point. Cool to chat with and
